In the third part of Christian Doctrine discussed the commandments of God and the Church.
343. How many are there in the law of commandments of God?
The commandment of the law of God are ten in number:
"I am the Lord thy God.
1. Thou shalt have no other God before me.
2. Thou shalt not use in vain the name of God.
3. Remember to sanctify the holidays.
4. Honour thy father and thy mother.
5. Thou shalt not kill.
6. Thou shalt not impurity.
7. Thou shalt not steal.
8. Do not bear false witness no.
9. You shall not covet neighbor's wife.
10. Thou shalt not covet the property of others. "
344. Why the commandments of God did they get that name?
God's commandments were given this name because it is God himself who has printed in the soul of every man who has proclaimed on Mount Sinai in the ancient law engraved on two tables of stone, and that is Jesus Christ who was confirmed in the new law.

The commandments of the first table are the top three, who look directly to God and the duties we owe him.
